The Solar Equity Platform is an online platform that connects solar customers who have excess electricity credits to low-income customers looking to receive those credits. Customers can then use the platform to donate excess credits to low-income customers, making their system eligible for additional state incentives. The platform creates an incentive for homeowners with large roofs to maximize the size of their solar array beyond the electricity load of their home and share the clean energy produced with customers who cannot install solar themselves.
